Venue Description

Best Western Woodlands Hotel is located in Broughty Ferry, Dundee. There are a number of fully accessible wheelchair rooms/bathrooms, a fully equipped gym, heated indoor pool, sauna, steam and jacuzzi and resident holistic masseuse. There is a relaxing lounge bar and large restaurant serving breakfast lunch and dinner. The Ballroom is an ideal space for large celebrations and can seat up to 200 people, The Library makes an intimate setting for weddings,social events or meeting space. Our Wifi is excellent and our ample parking is free! Disabled parking and access.

Accessibility

Disabled parking is situated just few metres from the hotel main entrance. The entrance is flat with manual push doors. Reception is close to the entrance and help is easily on hand should it be required. The Restaurant/Bar/Lounge is on the ground floor - there is one raised area in the bar with three low level steps and several soft seats on level area. The breakfast buffet can occasionally be served in the raised area of restaurant, however, staff are always on hand to lend a helping hand if so required. The hotel has 3 bedroom wings: The Abercromby Wing was opened in 2016 and has 24 King size rooms. 2 Disabled rooms with roll in showers are available on the ground floor. The upper floors are accessible by lift. The Hamilton Wing is on two floors, there is one disabled access room with a roll in shower on the ground floor, the corridors are wide. The Wyldes Wing is in the original part of the hotel which was a former mansion house, all rooms are accessed by stairs and there is no lift access.

There is a disabled toilet on the ground floor- it has a wide door and easy access locking. There are grab rails.

Staff

Staff in reception, bar, restaurant and housekeeping have experience in welcoming blind and partially sighted guests, groups come 4 or 5 times per year to meet their guide dog for the first time - the groups stay in the hotel for 7 nights while training with the dogs.
