Birmingham Botanical Gardens is a 15 acre grade II* listed landscape, with diverse micro-climates, offering a uniquely bio-diverse natural environment. It is one of the UK’s most significant historic botanic gardens which has remarkably remained intact since 1829. We're the green heart of Birmingham. The Gardens offers something for everyone. With over 30,000 plants to explore in our 4 Victorian Glasshouses and exciting outdoor Gardens including two Alpine Gardens, the Japanese Garden showcasing the National Bonsai Collection, a Pinetum, the Adventure Playground, and a rolling lawn overlooking our authentic bandstand. Make a day of it, with Medicine Bakery on site, seasonal garden walks and a variety of fun events throughout the year.Accessibility
Partial access, certain areas of the Gardens are only accessible via stairs or unsuitible ground for a wheelchair, however there is a route around the gardens that is wheelchair accessible. Many paths slope or are uneaven, so we advise that scooters stay on the paths when exploring The Gardens. Please ask for a free map for the accessible route upon arrival. The cafe and shop are wheelchair accessible, along with the majority of the function rooms. A limited number of mobility scooters and wheelchairs are available to hire for visitors.

Toilets
There are accessible toilets in both the Welcome area and outside in the Gardens at the end of the Terrace. This are clearly marked and are on the Map that you can collect from recepetion when you arrive. There is no accessible toilet in the cafe.
