Overview

A delightful hour spent with the cats and staff at cafe meow. Variety of seating available around the cafe of varying heights and types plus plenty of space to park a wheelchair alongside the sofa or mobility scooter to one side out of the way. Enjoyed a dairy free latte and there are gluten free options on the cake menu. The cats loved my mobility scooter- and also another customers wheelchair. By the end of my visit my scooter had been claimed by Steve who had settled down to sleep! The cats were also not scared of the scooter which had been a concern of mine before I went- they took it in their stride. Very easily accessible cafe and well worth a visit to spend time with the cats.

Transport & Parking

5

Cafe meow is located on a pedestrianised street so parking is all a short distance away. West street car park is relatively close by with 3 hours blue badge parking free. I found the lift out of the car park a bit tricky with my mobility scooter and the doors inside the carpark are heavy with no buttons to help open the door. There is also blue badge parking on the next street over from cafe meow.

Access

4.5

The door opens easily although isn’t automated- the disabled button doesn’t work to open the door. There is a ramp up to the main entrance and easily accessed with my mobility scooter. I was able to park my scooter out of the way inside the cafe. Another customer was also visiting in a wheelchair.a they were also able to access easily. On exit a staff member held the front door open for me which made exiting easier than entering had been.

Toilets

4.5

The toilets are through a heavy door. Again a normal door which could be a bit more difficult to manoeuvre through. But there is a spacious disabled toilet. Clean and tidy with grab rails. The alarm pull doesn’t reach the floor but is hanging freely.
