Overview
Wow, the glamping pod at CYP Callander Hostel was incredible! There were so many accessible features and the mountain view outside the glass sliding doors is so beautiful. We spent 2 nights here and I wish we could have stayed longer. There are lots of sweet shops and cafe within easy walking/rolling distance and gorgeous lochs are a short drive away.
Transport & Parking
There is a parking spot just outside the camping pod. I'll note that the parking lot was filled with a type of gravel. My husband's powerchair navigated the parking lot fine. We drove here and had to return our wheelchair van on our last day. We used Stirling Taxi Services to give us a ride from CYP to Edinburgh Airport, and that worked great!
Access
The accessibility features were incredible for us. The bedroom has a profiling bed with a pressure relieving mattress. There is a ceiling hoist that slides seamlessly from the bedroom into the bathroom; it was very easy to use.
Toilets
In addition to the ceiling hoist, the bathroom had a full changing table in the shower and the sink could be moved up or down with a button. The toilet was accessible with a bidet system. Very fancy!
Staff
The staff were so helpful and showed us how to use the ceiling hoist.
