Edinburgh College is one of Scotland’s biggest Colleges with around 20,000 students across 4 campuses in Edinburgh and the Lothians. Edinburgh College academic centres have skilled, knowledgeable staff with expertise in specialist areas with industry experience to ensure all students have the most relevant and up to date teaching. Based in the North of Edinburgh, our Granton Campus is a modern, practical, accessible building.

Accessibility

Entrances: There is a main entrance next to the College car park and another main entrance close to Morrisons’ supermarket. Doors: the entrance doors have a revolving door and a single width automatic door with a lower level intercom button to gain access. Level access: there is a slight slope from road to entrance near car park, the entrance near Morrisons is level. Lifts: There are lifts near each entrance and in the corridor past Student Services.

Toilets

There are accessible toilets on each floor, they all have step free access and grab-rails. There are two Changing Places toilets in this campus. One is located in catering block and the other is located in the sports block. The toilet in the sports block can be accessed by a radar key, for the toilet in the catering block contact staff at reception as there is Access Control on doors. Staff

All staff have access to online equality and diversity training. The College also provides training on, for example, mental health awareness, dyslexia, Deaf Awareness, etc. as part of continuing professional development. Some staff specialise in teaching community ESOL to students. BSL interpreters and communication support workers are provided to Deaf students where needed, and student learning advisors can help with any adjustments.
