Afternoon tea on the railway
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
Fairly easy wheelchair access although being an old railway, the doors are not exta wide. Small threshold at entrance door, the reception/ticket area, then through small shop onto level platform for train. Cafe at Embsay station not accessible, but staff are brilliant and will get cafe service outside to you. Cafe at Bolton Abbey Station easily accessible to everyone. Due to the age and type of carriages, we had our afternoon tea in the guards department, halfway along the train. A long ramp was placed and two of the staff were on hand to ensure my safety both on and off the train. We had a table to ourselves right next carriage to the galley carriage. Food was excellent, and tea topped up four times in the hour we were on there. Enjoyed the day so much we will definitely be going back again soon.
Parking & Transport
Excellent
We travelled by car, and found five disabled parking spaces, but the large car park has plenty of parking space not marked up, so no problem leaving space around you.
Accessible Toilets
Excellent
Disabled toilets at both stations easily accessible, clean, and also water was hot unlike some other venues I have been to. Pointed out that the red cord was missing in the one at Embsay station to staff, who hadn't realised,, and promised it would be sorted quickly. All the staff are volunteers with a passion for steam locomotives, and couldn't apologise more.

We got a very warm welcome from all the staff. They couldn't be more helpful, and they are very knowledgeable about the railway.
Additional Information
It was recommended to social distance, and most visitors were talking at a socially distanced gap.
