Escape The Past brings Edinburgh's dark history to life through immersive, interactive experiences for small groups. We have two award winning escape rooms and outdoor puzzle trails all inspired by real Edinburgh history. See, touch and even smell old Edinburgh as a thrilling mystery unfolds, with your team at the heart of it! Not to be missed when visiting Edinburgh!

Accessibility

Escape The Past is located in a historic building in Nicolson Square. Within these physical constraints we aim to be as inclusive as possible. We have two types of experience: 1. Outdoor City Trails 2. Indoor Escape Rooms 1. Outdoor City Trails Our City Trails are like outdoor escape rooms that take place in Edinburgh's historic streets! They are fully wheelchair accessible using paved surfaces but do include some hills. If completing the trail on foot, be prepared to cover approximately 4-5km. The experience normally takes about 2 hours, but we're happy to allow additional time for disabled visitors to complete their city trail. Frequent stops can be made along the route e.g. for a coffee or lunch break. Please also complete the "Special Assistance" box at checkout to ensure we're aware of your requirements in advance. 2. Indoor Escape Rooms Our indoor escape rooms are partially disabled accessible. Level access can usually be arranged given prior notice and our doorway widths can accommodate most wheelchairs. Please note that some aspects of the experience may not be accessible to those with physical disabilities.
