Venue Description

Exeter Library is open seven days a week and receives an average of 1,500 visits a day. There are five spaces for hire. These range from rooms suitable for small meetings for just four people, to a conference, training or event space that can hold 90. Prices start from £14.30 per hour. Free WiFi is available throughout the building, there are public computers for us and printing, copying and scanning facilities. The library itself is a thriving cultural hub, with a diverse and exciting events programme for all, and has over 1km of shelves containing over 60,000 books. In addition, the library has a reserve stack of approximately 150,000 items, available on request. The Owl and the Pussycat Cafe is within the library, and has a pleasant outdoors garden terrace available in summer. Exeter Library is also home to the Business and Intellectual Property (IP) Centre, where you can access information and attend business events and workshops to support your business or start up. The library also houses the first FabLab to be located within a public library in England. FabLab Devon is a community creative space that provides access to a range of digital equipment and machinery. There are five Blue Badge spaces outside the main entrance and four / five at the bottom of the slope (on Musgrave Row). These are all general public Blue Badge parking spaces however and not dedicated to the library. Accessibility

The library building and meeting spaces are fully accessible with lifts to the upper floor. There are wide aisles and disabled toilets. Staff are on hand to help during office hours - some have been trained in giving extra support to those who are neurodiverse or who have Alzheimer's.
