Overview
La Tasca is an authentic Spanish tapas bar in the center of York. Due to its location on a side street in the center of the medieval town, wheelchair access could prove difficult due to the cobbled streets. However, there is a dropped kerb outside the main front entrance making access easier for mobility scooter users.
Transport & Parking
There are no parking spaces close to the entrance of this restaurant, and there are double yellow lines on most streets surrounding it. The closest car parks are Monk Bar car park or Clifford's Tower, both of which are around 250m away, and the nearest bus stop is approximately 100m away.
Access
There are two double doors at the entrance, which can both be opened easily if necessary at the push of a button. The restaurant is large and spacious, and staff are more than happy to rearrange tables to accommodate. There is a large lift if you are unable to use the tight spiral staircase. There is a rooftop terrace on the 1st floor, however as this has two small steps down to this it may be difficult to access using a wheelchair or with mobility difficulties.
Toilets
There is a sizable disabled toilet on the ground floor, with further bathrooms on the 1st floor. These can be accessed using the lift.
Staff
Staff at La tasca are friendly and approachable, willing to cater to all needs. Service was quick and efficient, making our visit an overall pleasant experience.
