Overview

This level access Starbucks is in a great location outside the city centre of Dundee which is very spacious inside. There is also a drive thru available for a quick pick-up.

Transport & Parking

I would say that the best way to get here would be by car. There are plenty of parking spaces available and if I remember correctly, there were 3 accessible parking spaces right in front of the building. I also noticed there was an electric car charging, although I don't think it was working when I visited. I'm not sure what buses go to the this area of Dundee, but it is a 10 minute drive from the city centre of Dundee.

Access

It is level access to get into Starbucks however, the door is not automatic in any way to help customers who may struggle to open the door manually. The door is wide enough for a wheelchair to get through and there is enough turning space once inside. There is a mixture of tables at different heights within Starbucks and enough space to get around the tables. A few tables, including a long table beside the till point, were at a great height for wheelchair users. The till point and cake displays are also at a good height for wheelchair users in general however, there are a lot of displays that might obstruct the view for a wheelchair user to speak to a member of staff behind the counter. I didn't notice if there was a hearing loop.

Toilets

There is an accessible toilet in Starbucks but, the signage wasn't very clear to say that there was one. On the door leading to the toilet there was only a male and female image. I would say that the toilet was a decent size for a wheelchair user however, if someone had a carer with them to help them transfer then it may be difficult. The toilet is closer to the left-hand which might be difficult for some customers. The toilet was all clean when I visited, the only problem was that the red cord was tied up. I untied it though and added a Euan's Guide red cord card. There is no Changing Place toilet near Starbucks.

Staff

All staff that I interacted with during my visit were very friendly and welcoming.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I was a little disappointed during my visit that they didn't sell decaf tea, just for people who like me may not be able to have caffeine. Although I had a delicious hot chocolate instead.
