The Great Race!

Legend has it that centuries ago, the Jade Emperor asked twelve creatures to have a race. The order in which they finished would determine the year they looked after. But with each creature travelling in different ways, from the giant dragon, to the little rat, it won't be as straightforward as it seems.
Inspired by the traditional story that tells us how the eastern Zodiac calendar was created, The Great Race! is a fun-filled and colourful new performance from children's theatre company A Thousand Cranes. Watch as traditional Japanese dance and puppetry combines with original music and Taiko drumming to tell you this incredible story - it's not only speed, but also kindness and courage that will help you cross the finishing line.
