Venue Description

Strawberry Field, the world-famous site immortalised by John Lennon in The Beatles hit, “Strawberry Fields Forever” is open to groups. Strawberry Field is home to an interactive visitor exhibition, café, shop and gardens. The exhibition is the current home to John Lennon’s Steinway piano, this piano helped John to create Imagine, the anthem for peace. It has been loaned to Strawberry Field with the kind permission of the George Michael estate. George owned and composed on the piano. Following his passing it was his wish for the piano to bring hope to those around it. Previously a Salvation Army children’s home where John came to play and escape, Strawberry Field is open to groups and visitors who wish to discover what lies behind the iconic gates. With responsible tourism and well-being at its heart, this award-winning heritage site now leads the way in being accessible to all, with full wheelchair access, tours for the visually impaired and features to support the hard of hearing and other disabilities, as well as a multi-language media guide and a Changing Places toilet facility.
