Overview

Accessibility depends quite heavily on whether you visit on a day which is well staffed. Some times of year you can ring intercom in vain. I was lucky, though.

Transport & Parking

I did manage to park but there are no actual disabled bays, I was a good distance away and access from parking is over cobbles.

Access

Having experienced this venue before, I was pleasantly surprised to get in! I had trouble pressing the call bell for help with the lift because there was a bin in the way, but staff moved it immediately. Response to call bell prompt. Space inside quite tight but possible with even a large powered chair. A scooter might be too large, though as lifts aren't very deep. Really lost marks on the PA system, though, I missed over half of what was said. For a comedy show, this was a big fail. Chairs in wine bar lightly padded folding chairs with no arms.

Toilets

No signage to find disabled toilets, only regular loos. Toilet very tight fit, no usable turn area. Couldn't get under basin due to bin. Fixed vertical and horizontal L, drop down and fixed vertical R. Paper dispenser very high. Emergency cord white and cut off at standing height.

Staff

Staff were friendly but a little too much. I was rushed into the lift and had to ask them to leave me to wander the area taking up the atmosphere. Similarly I was bundled to the front of the line to wait to go inside the wine bar area when I'd actually wanted coffee, then I just had to wait in line, which was awkward.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Lifts behind heavy doors with very small labels. Lift opens at both sides but no indication which for opens which way so I couldn't reverse in when required. Evac chair present on some floors. Low lighting throughout, purple on my visit, which cast heavy shadows. Signage inside lift good, I could find my way.
