Good
Set in a converted church on the ground floor, it's one of the few places in Appleby to have a wheelchair accessible loo. There is plenty of room to manoeuvre a chair to the table. The staff can't do enough, including moving furniture and clearing the bathroom which actually has an adult changing table. It's advisable to book in advance so they can do everything in advance. The food is great and reasonably priced and if I had my way I would have been there every day. It's a community venture but everything is well organised. The reason for the 4 stars...I didn't have access to the books. Open Wednesday - Saturday. Closes at 3.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
Through a door which has to be opened manually. It was too far away for me to reach so had to be opened by my carer. Inside, is accessible except if you want access to the books.
Parking & Transport
Good
The free carpark is beside the church, but only has 3 dedicated disabled spaces and two of those with hatch markings. One occasion we were unlucky with the dedicated places but I have a rear ramp so just used another space.
Accessible Toilets
Excellent
Spotlessly clean. Lots of room, transfer from the right. Lowered handbasin and well stocked. Decent handrail to the left. No complaints at all.
