Venue Description

Specialising in cheeses - we have at least 50 in stock at any one time - we source the very best produce and flavours to offer our customers. Our fine food and drink range constantly evolves, and we also stock gourmet gadgets, selected for their design elegance and practicality, as well as gifts for the foodie in your life, or just for you! We build bespoke hampers for all occasions - just tell us your budget and any favourite foods/drinks (and no-nos!), and we’ll do the rest. Our owner, Louise, has a Cheese Retail diploma, is passionate about cheeses from all around the globe, and is constantly developing her cheese knowledge and skills, which she wants to share with you. We can create celebration cakes of cheese, provide cheeseboards for events and source specialist ingredients, as well as selecting the finest food from across the UK, Europe and beyond for general sale in the shop. We sell a selection of Dumfries & Galloway produce, such as Hills and Harbour gin, Gallovidian Liqueurs, Ethical Dairy cheeses, Loch Arthur Cheddar, Nith Valley Bees honey and Nith Valley Eggs. As Louise was born and brought up in the Western Isles , there are inevitably some of the finest tastes from that part of Scotland on offer too, including the famous Stornoway Black Pudding, Barra Atlantic Gin and multi-award-winning Stag Bakery products, and we are proud to be the first Isle of Harris Gin Click & Collect location in Dumfries.

Accessibility

There is level access (short slope to a recessed door from the pavement) at the shop entrance. There is a push pad at the bottom of the slope and on the inside on the customer side of the counter for opening the door (although during warm weather, we would usually have the door open). There is a clear route through the shop, which is tight due to the shop being small, which is wide enough for most wheelchair users. We will always assist any customers to get round the shop physically (e.g. by moving anything which may be narrowing for their route through, and in any other way we can.
