Venue Description
One of Glasgow's oldest Restaurants, 'The Chip' as it is known to the regulars has 2 restaurants and 3 bars on Ashton Lane in the west end.
Accessibility
As we are in a historic building we do not unfortunately have a lift, limiting access to our Brasserie and Big pub (both on the upper floor). However our Fine Dining Restaurant and Corner bar are on the ground floor. The building is situated on a cobbled lane which is quite uneven. Guests are welcome to arrive by car directly to the front doors of the restaurant as a drop off point. There is one step at the main entrance. When booking, a request can be made for our access ramp to be in place just before the time of your booking. As the lane is used by cars and delivery vehicles we are unfortunately unable to have a permanent ramp installed. Our courtyard tables are closest to the main door and these are often favoured by wheelchair uses and people with disabilities as they are closest to the accessible toilets. The courtyard tables have chairs with no arm rests. The tables in the inside room of the restaurant have a mixture of chairs and booth seating which is preferred if you require extra room on either side of you. Our reservation line is open 11am to 8pm. If you call we can locate your table in the most suitable area of the building for you. We cater for all dietary requirements, please let us know when booking, how we can accommodate you. Some of our seating has brighter lighting than others, we can make sure your table is just right for you. Some tables are quieter than others (due to time of day and proximity to the bars) if this is something that would benefit your booking please request. If a menu if larger text would be beneficial please request when booking.
Toilets
Our ground floor toilets are the closest to the corner bar. These are also used by the main restaurant. There are two ways to get there from the restaurant. 1/ Through the Corner bar which is all flat. 2/ Over a small flight of 3 steps up and down.
