Venue Description

Byres Community Hub brings together the world changing research conducted in the School of Health & Wellbeing with members of the public and local organisations within Glasgow's west end. The Hub helps to build community in the heart of the west end of Glasgow. We have a number of vibrant spaces for community groups to book free of charge and the ground floor of our building is completely open to the public.

The Clarice Pears building is fully accessible. Accessibility features: There are accessible and ambulant toilets located on levels 1 – 5 A Changing Places facility is located on level 1. The facility includes: Adult sized changing bench – height adjustable Washbasin - height adjustable Ceiling track hoist system Centrally located toilet with space both sides for assistants Hinged/fixed support grab rails capable of accommodating the necessary loading Privacy screen A fixed audio frequency induction loop system is located on the reception desk on each level of the building. There are 12 mobile units kept at the main reception entrance on level 1 of the building. The health and wellbeing of students, staff and visitors is of great importance to the University, and the School of Health and Wellbeing has been designed to meet the welfare needs of all its users. Welfare facilities on Level 1: Shower/Changing and locker facilities, and drying cupboard for active commuters Reflection/Faith Room (including an Ablution Lobby) Baby change room with wash hand basin and microwave First Aid Room
