Canongate Kirk is an active member of the Church of Scotland. We are currently open for worship at 10.30am every Sunday morning but check our website for further details. We are also a venue for mainly classical music and choral concerts and a Fringe venue.

Beautiful, historic church with good access

Canongate Kirk is next door to the People's Story museum, so we took a quick look in. The main entrance has a single step and then it is level access within the church. The church is stunning. The church is usually open on Sunday afternoons after the service.

Disabled Access at Canongate Kirk

There is a level access door into the venue and this can be opened from the inside when the church is open to visitors. Access to the main part of the church with seating is all level. There is a disability toilet.

Accessible parking at Canongate Kirk

Vehicles with blue badges can park on yellow lines right outside the church. In some cases vehicles can park in the church courtyard but this is not always under our control

Step free access. sliding door wide enough for mobility wheelchair. Emergency bell pull. Grab rail. Lever taps.
