Venue Description

The Children in Scotland training room is ideal for small to medium-sized meetings of up to 30 people. The room provides a relaxed and welcoming space that can also be split into two smaller rooms, allowing for flexibility and the creation of break-out space. Our facilities include a SMART Board with built-in projector and secure WiFi which is available free to all guests. There are also smaller rooms available, which are ideal for meetings of up to 8 people and interviews. Our building is fully accessible and has free car parking available on request. Children in Scotland is a registered charity and is the collective voice for children, young people and families in Scotland, and organisations and businesses that have a significant positive impact on children’s lives. We are an influencing and membership organisation, comprised of representatives from the voluntary, public and private sectors.

Accessibility

The entrance to our property is ground level, with no steps. We have two main entrances 1 swivel door and an adjacent door which is a push pad operated electric door wide enough for wheelchair access. If driving and parking at the venue, we have a ramp to the rear entrance with a key coded electric powered door. All other surfaces are flat and are either tiled or carpeted. Our office is on level 1 and can be reached via one of the two standard lifts we have in the building.

Toilets

The accessible toilets are located on the ground floor and have no steps to enter. The doors are wide enough for both a manual or power wheelchair. There are grab rails and easy turn locks and taps. The room also contains a wet room with a shower with grab rails.

Staff

Some of our staff know BSL, with a number of staff proficient and other with a very basic knowledge. One of our services is an ASL advice line and have a number of staff with experience with additional support requirements.
