Experience Barnsley Museum and Discovery Centre

Experience Barnsley visitors can uncover the incredible story of Barnsley, told through centuries-old artefacts, documents, films and recordings that have been donated by people living and working in the Borough. It is a museum by the people, for the people and about the people. The museum has a changing programme of temporary exhibitions relating to Barnsley’s past and present, and an exciting range of activities and events throughout the year including weekly under five’s sessions, family holiday activities, school workshops, sessions for community groups, talks and more – all delivered by our team of passionate staff and volunteers. There is a shop at Experience Barnsley selling a range of items and a cafe, The Old George Town Hall, onsite as well.
