Venue Description

Craig & Alison Arthur bought the pub in May 2019. They have a friendly hands-on approach & love meeting up with their customers. Our main entrance is through double doors leading into the bar area, this door is accessible by most wheelchairs. The bar area is warm and inviting with a log burner for the colder weather. The bar area seats around 50 people for drinking or dining, and all chairs and tables can be moved to accommodate. There is also a large function room that can cater for events of up to 70 people with a dance floor. The bar area consists of laminate flooring which is flat. There is a small door ledge to enter the function room. Both in the bar and function room we have a variety of packages to select from, whether it's a birthday party, funeral, christening, or event. Our function room can comfortably seat up to 70 allowing room for a dance floor. Please ask our staff for information relating to weddings. We also have a small stage where music gigs or comic acts can be performed. Our Bunker Café, attached to the pub provides our customers with a breakfast/lunch menu - see opening times below. Seating is available inside and outside or just order and go from the window. Pop inside and see the various delicacies and gifts for sale. At the moment we have crafts and gluten-free jams & sauces available. Cakes from Fisher & Donaldson are available most days. Entrance to the cafe for wheelchairs or persons unsure of their feet can enter the cafe via the main double-door entrance. We encourage our customers to bring their dogs along. Our dogs hate being left home alone, but please keep dogs on leads.

Accessibility

Entrance is straight into the venue via double doors - approximately 1m wide. No steps or ledges in the main bar area. Small ramp plus approximately 2cm door frame ledge into the function room. Gents toilet is off the main bar with one wider cubicle - unsure if a wheelchair would be able to access via the double door system. Ladies' toilets are accessible to the point of the entrance, however quite small within. There is one cubicle with handrails to assist. The cafe entrance has one step down into the area, however, this can be accessed via the main entrance, through the bar area and through a standard door.

Toilets

The toilets in the venue are possibly the only things that are not up to the best standard for disabled access. Doorways into the toilets have been designed with double entrances which may hamper wheelchair access.
