Venue Description

Herne Hill Lifestyle Centre is a gym, housed beneath the newly renovated Grade 2 listed Carnegie Library. Facilities include a 75 station gym and group exercise areas. Activities such as gym and fitness classes are available on a casual basis to both members and non-members. Please be aware that the centre is cashless. Carers do not pay when accessing with their client to support them. We have flyers available in large print detailing the sessions across the borough.

Accessibility

The surrounding streets have dropped curbs and the pavements are wide and clear. The street level, main entrance has double, automatic doors and interior of the building has wide walkways, clear of obstacles. A lift assists access to the basement floor.

Toilets

Our accessible toilets and changing rooms are wide enough for wheelchairs, have handrails at the correct height, low level utilities, and emergency cords.

Staff

All Better staff undergo Safeguarding training and where possible, disability equality and awareness training. Many of our Fitness Instructors have undertaken additional courses and modules to further their knowledge and understanding specific to disability.
