Venue Description

Lea Green is a leading Learning and Development Centre built around a large 19th century manor house set in 25 acres of parkland. Lea Green offers tailored residential and day courses for families, adults and young people. All activities are based around personal development in a fun and a safe environment through outdoor adventure, sport, the environment and the arts. There are a range of facilities at the centre including a sports hall, astro-turf, high and low ropes courses and sports pitches. Our wide range of activities include: caving, archery, orienteering, team building, rock climbing, problem solving, mountain biking, sports and much more. There is both self-catering and accessible accommodation on-site as well as a camping area. Our accessible accommodation, Meadow Lodge, has been purpose built for people with additional needs and is available for short breaks and holidays, making it perfect for respite breaks.

Lea Green offers a wide range of inclusive activities and our team are experienced, passionate and understanding to adapt activities to suit the individual ability. Meadow Lodge is purpose built for people with additional needs and is fully accessible throughout with disabled parking. Meadow Lodge has six twin bedrooms each with an electric profiling bed, ceiling tracked hoists in all bedrooms, bathrooms and lounge, hearing loops, an interactive sensory room and a charging point for an electric wheelchair with a lithium ion battery.

Accessible Performances

Carers visiting pay only for their meals when accompanying someone taking part in activities. Derbyshire County Council residents can benefit from a reduced rate.

Toilets

There are accessible toilets on-site with grab rails which are large enough for both manual and powered wheelchairs. The bathrooms in Meadow Lodge have rise and fall sinks and toilets. There is a Changing Places standard toilet which is available by prior arrangement due to site security and child protection issues.

Staff

Our team have backgrounds in teaching, youth work, social work, sport and outdoor education, and we have a wealth of knowledge and experience of working with young people and families. Our staff are trained and qualified in first aid and hold all the relevant governing body qualifications to deliver the activities we offer. We have the expertise to support the groups who visit us, and to help enable them to get the very best out of their stay.
