Red cords and improvement works

There were many areas that were non accessible due to various broken lifts. Whilst there went to various toilets and found several which needed their red cords red carded.

accesibility

We visited the Science Museum with our son who walks slowly with support but cant do stairs. The ground floor was OK but getting around the upper floors was a nightmare as there is no step free access between the back part of the building and the front except for going down and back up again. it was very confusing and he was agitated. 3 of the lift banks were also out of order which added to the problems.

Very good apart from lift and toilet problems

Wheelchair access at this museum is generally very good, but I encountered some annoyances with lifts and toilets.

The museum has a wide range of accessible events and measures in place to ensure that it is accessible by all visitors. These range from Deaf-led education shows by our amazing Deaf presenters in our SIGNtific programme to events for young adults and families with children with an Autism Spectrum Condition in our Early Birds and Night Owls programmes.
