Mackintosh House Special Offer for Disabled Access Day

Mackintosh House Special Offer for Disabled Access Day article image

This Disabled Access Day, disabled visitors and their carers can see the beautiful home of artists Margaret MacDonald and Charles Rennie Mackintosh, free!

The Mackintosh House is the result of a meticulous reassembling of the principal interiors from the Mackintoshes Glasgow home. The couple lived at 78 Southpark Avenue (originally 6 Florentine Terrace) from 1906 to 1914. Great care was taken to ensure the house was replicated faithfully and the house even allows for similar views and light as the original,  located only 100m away. The Mackintosh House now sits within the Hunterian Art Gallery.

Last admission: 4.15pm

Important things to note:

Please be advised that the upper floors of the Mackintosh House are accessible by stair only (separate to the Mackintosh House, there is lift access between floors of the Art Gallery). Our venues sit in the centre of the University of Glasgow campus, which is quite steep and hilly. The nearest changing places toilet can be found at Kelvin Hall, 1445 Argyle Street, G3 8AW, approx. 15 mins walk from the University.
