Overview
Recently upgraded gym and pool. It's a lovely building - it's doesn't have perfect access but will be usable for many. There's a pool hoist and a very big changing room.
Transport & Parking
Disabled parking spaces outside the front door. Buses on the nearby Marchmont Rd and Grange Road.
Access
A ramp from street level goes up to the main entrance where there is a large automatic door. To get up to the pool and gym there are stairs or a platform lift. It's a bigger than average platform lift and it travels a short distance, around 3-4 feet. The pool changing room is huge - there's no hoist despite being roomy enough for one. There is a pool hoist however. I can't use it myself so I'd love to hear from someone who has used it. The biggest issue is the access to the gym. There are stairs which mean only part of the gym is accessible.
Toilets
Decent sized, well equipped bathroom. Enough room to swing a long haired dachsund.
Staff
Very helpful and friendly.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
There are issues regarding the layout and stairs in the gym. But there's a great Victorian pool which is accessible.
