Overview
This was the main reason of our visit to ironbridge as we enjoy these types of museams. Totally loved changing your money to old currency and learning loads about the Victorian time. Having visited beamish and black country museum, the guys here are way more in character and way more friendly and engaging. Chips here too are so much nicer (and one two days there was no queue). Also more to buy in the shops and I feel they are on par with beamish to integrate really well the feeling of the shop and the ability to buy.
Transport & Parking
Plenty of blue badge parking. We ended up getting the pass plus ticket mainly as they accepted my partner as a carer and because I have a blue light card through voluntary work I do so it ended up being a better deal so we just used the free parking instead of going through the free blue badge parking each time (which was easier - certainly as the machines was always near the disabled parking)
Access
Just taking some points of here, again this is what is, thankfully it's less coble stones and more gravel which is easier for me at least. They have done well to put in wheelchair ramps in the right spot. I do wish there was transport up and down the hill, we was told the horse and cart was running but never saw it over the weekend. A few more benches would have been good and some undercover half way up that hill would be good. But thankfully it's not a huge site. There are a couple of mobility carts you can hire but I didn't see any details of that and they was taken anyway.
Toilets
I think I spotted a couple which was ok for me, I felt not quite as good as beamish where they seemed to sneak the odd one in here or there but fair enough.
Staff
Staff top marks for sure perhaps at check in it would have been nice to learn about the mobility carts but I guess if they are fully booked then little point.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Note there is a sensory room too kinda in a busy spot which was good although I sware I saw a sign saying you need to request access which seems a bit weird but there are plenty of staff nearby.
