reasonably priced accommodation with helpful staff
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Walking Aid
Visit regularly, staff will do their best to help you including with dietary needs ( Dad is on a soft diet and they will do special things for him, including a packed lunch) . A number of accessible rooms and lovely accessible garden
Transport & Parking
Small car park which is a problem when they are full. Marked parking spaces including for blue badge holders. Good bus links and about a mile from train station. They also arrange 2- 3 trips a week with a minibus and driver. Quite a lot of guests visit without a car and they can arrange pick up from the train station. Short walk to shops (also bus to town).
Side entrance is level, ramp from garden into dining room entrance and level access through out the inside. Small lift to all floors. They have some accessible rooms, including 2 rooms with wet rooms downstairs. We use a room with handrails in the shower. They can provide a shower seat and raised toilet seat.
They have an accessible toilet downstairs in the public area. Not had any problems with it.
Most staff are very friendly and helpful. They will help you carry your luggage in and to take it out when you leave. They talked to Dad about his dietary needs and what he could have and what he wanted. They try their best to solve any problems. They have a nurse on site 24/7 and a porter on duty 24/7 as well.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
They send out a dietary sheet in advance of your stay. We visit several times a year and really enjoy it. The premier rooms have a view of the garden and we think it's worth paying the extra.
