Overview
While staying in the area we decided to visit an area of Chester centre known as the Rows. This area of the centre dates back to Tudor times the buildings. Were nice to look at, shops are. On two levels one above each other. Unfortunately due to the age of the buildings access isn’t easy many of the lower level shops have high steps to get in , the upper level we could only access one small part of as there was a ramp up. The shops in this area were unoccupied. Having said all this it was lovely. To. Take in the architecture and see what the Tudor buildings were like.
Transport & Parking
Access
Access to the upper levels virtually the non existent, we could only access one small area part. Many of the shops on the lower level had high steps to access them. None of this was a surprise given how old the. Buildings are.

Hi Jane, you can access the Rows but unfortunately it’s not signposted. You can access Eastgate and Bridge Street Rows via The Grosvenor Shopping Centre on Eastgate Street by The Grosvenor Hotel. Go to the top, turn right and head through St Michael’s Row. You then end up on Bridge Street Row. You can go in either direction and back to Eastgate Street. To access the other side of Eastgate Street Rows, head to the cathedral and opposite you will find Godstall Lane, which will take you to the Rows. In Bridge Street you will find a ramp off one of the side street, which gives you access to Bridge and Watergate Street Rows. Hopes this helps. Some of the shops have portable ramps to get into them
