Overview
Forget the massive crowds around Inveraray and come down to the quiet NTS garden at Crarae. The cafe is friendly and the food is home made.
Transport & Parking
We came by car and parked right next to the cafe. Huge car park. Good easy ramp to the door. You don't pay for parking. You don't need to be a member to go to the cafe.
Access
Pretty good access. The cafe is on ground level and there's reasonable space to move about. The staff were incredibly helpful. If you want to go into the actual garden it is a lot less accessible. It's partly built on the side of a hill so many parts may be difficult to access. However, it's a beautiful space to go into and enjoy from the benches dotted around the flatter lower section.
Toilets
The accessible toilet is pretty small. Baby changing shares the space. No tampons or towels available in the loo. If you are caught short this will be a difficulty because the loo is out the back door and along into a side building. My biggest bugbear is no mirror! It is thoughtless when organisations don't think disabled people want to check their hair or makeup. Sadly it was the case here. There is a wee lip at the bar of the door frame so be careful going in.
Staff
I cannot fault the staff. They are helpful friendly and effective communicators.
