Overview
We went to Cross Basket Castle for afternoon tea. There was a parking area just beside the venue. We did accidentally drive past it as the sign was not clear. The main entrance has steps but they do have portable ramps to allow access for wheelchair users. The ramps where very steep. Luckily there was a male member of staff who managed to push me up the ramp. Inside was lovely and cozy. We were taken to a spacious elegant sitting room to have our afternoon tea. The tables were a little low for me to reach the delicious sandwiches, cakes and tea. Fortunately my mum managed to reach things for me. After we had finished a member of staff kindly took us for a tour of the hotel. We used a lift to view one of the disabled rooms on the 2nd floor (see further down for more details). I would recommend a visit to the castle . See photos
Transport & Parking
We drove to the castle. The sign was not all that clear. There was plenty of parking at the castle and we were able to drop me off right outside the main entrance.
Access
There are steps at the main entrance to the castle but they do have portable ramps for wheelchair access. The ramps were steep but luckily a male member of staff helped push me up. There are disabled accessible toilets on the ground floor. There are also disabled guest rooms which can be accessed using the lift. We were taken to see room 7 on the 2nd floor. It is the more spacious of the 2 available disabled rooms. There is an en-suite with a wet floor shower but no red cord. See photos.
Toilets
The ground floor has a wheelchair accessible toilet.
Staff
