Overview

This turned out to be an ideal shopping visit, all the sort of shops we like, down to earth types, and places we could afford. This will be our starting point today for a visit to check out shopping outlets, a coffee break to get us going, then a really beautiful drive around parts of the Peak District. SAT NAV DIRECTION. DE55 2JW. McArthur Glen Outlets. Alfreton, Derbyshire. WE SUGGEST YOU ALLOW AT LEAST TWO HOURS TO VISIT, and this allows time to pop into most shops and a coffee break. We arrived nice and early, 9.30, and suggest you time your visit to get here for this time as well, as it gets rather busy by 10.00, and most shops open at 9.00 anyway. It’s a large car park, with many disabled bays available, and close to the shops (photo 1) with a level paved approach to the shops (photo 2). The first store is that of M&S, and we were very pleased on the cost of items here, less than normal in your local M&S, and already a lot of buyers, so a good start for us. It is a level, wide open and wheelchair friendly ride to each store (photo 3) very clean and well maintained, and each store looks inviting, so it’s going to be a long visit this morning, and what lady can resist a look into Radley (photo 4) and check out the discounted cost of a new bag (photo 5) There are many high street shops here, all at easy prices (photo 6) as you slowly move along towards Costa Coffee for a quick drink ( A REVIEW FOLLOWS THIS FOR COSTA COFFEE ) a nice clean and well kept Costa, worth popping in. At the first corner, you have the village square (photo 7) which is for the toilets, and again, very clean with modern facilities. There is a disabled toilet for you (photo 8) but you need a radar key to use toilet, and staff at reception desk will help you to get into the toilet, but they do not sell Radar keys here. The toilets are clean, reasonably big enough to get wheelchairs in, so an ideal place to use just now, as this is the only toilet block here. Then it’s outside again to continue to explore this lovely outlet village (photo 9) with shops you know, without them being these higher market outlets, better costs for us all. There are plenty of seating available, but not quiet so enticing in October, and most shops have canopies to keep you dry as you wander around (photo 10). Arriving at the far corner of village, you can enter the Food Court (photo 11) ideal later on today, with many food chains available (photo 12) but not that many seats, although we spotted a sign to show more seating available. Wheelchairs will find spots to settle in, so that was good, and the noodle bar held our attention (photo 13) we love Chinese, but just to early now. Our shopping delight continued, and oh my, look what caught my husbands eye ? A Cadbury shop, and opposite, a Lindt shop (photo 14) how on earth do I keep him out, he is diabetic, but as he says, a little now and again won’t hurt, will it ? Cadbury had wide isles to get wheelchair along, with a large selection on display (photo 15) and you are able to buy chocolate that you don’t normally find in local supermarkets, and many at discounted costs (photo 16) so I will just have to keep my eye on him for the next few weeks, poor chap. We have never seen a Cadbury outlet like this before, it’s such a good idea, and in a village shopping outlet like this, it has surely got to be paying its way. We liked this idea, a little water fountain for our four legged friends (photo 17) as we of course would never dream of giving them chocolate to eat ! Now how do we stop him looking at Lindt chocolates, just looking he says, yah ! Many shopping malls have these Lindt shops nowadays, we always seem to be in one, but just looking of course, and many times you can catch a bargain offer, there’s so much to choose from (photo 19) but you have to be careful getting your chair around, as sometimes it’s just to narrow for a chair to cope with, but here we were ok, even if he managed to sneak into our bag more chocolates. Fortunately, we were soon departing this great little shopping village, and with a large grin on his face, we went to pick up our car so as to pick up the SAT NAV directions to take us on a great and very beautiful tour of the Peak District, so may we invite you to follow our tour today, by taking a look at the reviews to follow, where we will be giving you all the SAT NAV directions you will need to enjoy a delightful and rewarding scenic tour. Remember that a review for COSTA COFFEE follows this, worth reading as it is one of the better Costa Coffee stores. Then Start our Peak District tour by opening up the review for PEAK DISTRICT TOUR, on Euans guide, by Disabled Traveller.
