Beach with ramp access
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Walking Aid, Wheelchair
Ramp is a little bit steep, toilets next to beach, a cafe next to the beach has a sand chair you can hire but we didn't use it.
Transport & Parking
There is no parking right next to the beach but there's a car park and on street parking not that far away. We were there when the weather wasn't that great and not during high season so you might have to use the car park during busy times. You have to pay for blue badge parking in Cornwall Council's car parks. I think there may be a seasonal restriction on on street parking.
It's a sand beach with rock pools a little bit further along the beach at either side. One of the reasons we chose this beach was because you can hire a sand chair from the cafe but when we got to the beach we decided to not bother enquiring about this and just took Dad's wheelchair on the beach. The ramp was steeper than ideal but we managed without too much difficulty.
The toilets are next to the ramp to the beach and the cafe as well as Queen Mary Gardens. The toilets are easy to find if you look for the beach first but if you look for the toilets from the direction of the car park and where we parked on the road they're not well signposted, the first sign we saw pointed to the nearest toilets as being quite a walk away rather than directing us to these ones. The accessible toilet is a good size. all the toilets are unisex cubicles and there is braille on the entrance to the toilets and the accessible toilet door.
