Overview
I took a small scooter with me on holiday to the Scottish Borders, and was hoping this museum would be accessible. And it was! We spent all afternoon there, and I found it easy to navigate my way round the museum (both floors) on my small scooter. There was plenty to see in the museum, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Transport & Parking
There is parking in the square outside, with multiple blue badge spaces.
Access
The museum was easily accessible on a small scooter. The lift was big enough to fit one person standing and one on a small scooter, and it was easy to operate. The ground floor was very easy to navigate as it consisted of the shop, the hallway with stairs and the lift, then the museum itself. Upstairs had a room about the Common Riding, then the corridor with information about the history of Selkirk, and finally there was a separate room with a local art exhibition. It was all easy to navigate, there was plenty to keep us interested, and we loved all the interesting information about Selkirk.
Toilets
I didn't see any toilets in the museum, but there are public toilets in the car park outside,
Staff
The staff were lovely - very friendly and helpful.
