Overview
Efforts have been made.
Transport & Parking
Venue is on the left hand side as you go uphill (from Grassmarket towards George IV Bridge). Taxi can stop right outside. Don't think cars can park on Victoria St. Buses to George IV Bridge.
Access
Victoria St is bumpy (setts) and reasonably steep. The restaurant has a step at the entrance and then a couple of steps to get up the the dining area. I called advance and they had their ramp poised for action. The ramp is a chunky wooden specimen and I wasn't convinced when I saw it, but it turned out to be perfectly adequate. As usual I asked a member of staff to give me a shove, which they were happy to do! Inside the restaurant a lot of tables have been fitted in, and there are screens partitioning them off (legacy of COVID?). I've been to the restaurant twice, and with advance warning that I'd be on my scooter, both times I've been seated at a table that was reasonably easy for me to transfer to.
Toilets
The loo is pretty small, with grab rails but not much room to manoeuvre. The loos are in a corridor off the main dining room, and as far as I remember I found the accessible loo quite awkward to get around and then to get out of the main door. Fortunately there was always a member of staff ready to assist with the main door.
Staff
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Try the crispy potatoes with aioli - you won't regret it. When I initially phoned to say I'd be on my scooter, I was told that they usually get folk to leave scooters outside. I told them that this wouldn't work for me, and in the end it wasn't a problem - once I had transferred to sit at my table they took the scooter away out of the road. If anyone's in a wheelchair I'd phone ahead to check, as it's pretty tight - but I wouldn't be surprised if they have plans in place to assist wheelchair users to visit.
