Overview
I visited the Lucky Cat Restaurant - located on floor 60 of 22 Bishopsgate - twice over the course of March and April 2025. During the initial visit, I went for drinks in the bar to celebrate my wedding anniversary, and on the second occasion I attended a cooking class as part of the Gordon Ramsay Cooking Academy. Each time the staff went above and beyond to ensure that I was taken care of and had the right set up for each visit, which ensured I felt very looked after. The booking system for both visits was done online and was very easy. Both booking options had space for me to highlight my access needs and I received follow up communications where needed. The cooking course in particular made me feel really included which can often be difficult for activities like this. The class takes place in a professional kitchen environment so I was blown away by the care taken to include me. The great service I got every time has made it a place I'd definitely visit again.
Transport & Parking
Given its location in Central London, there aren't any parking facilities. But there are a large number of transport options available nearby: - Liverpool Street Station is a short walk away, with accessible options available via the Elizabeth Line and National Rail. There is also a Lucky Cat shuttle taxi that runs from outside the station to 22 Bishopsgate and back for those visiting the restaurant. The hours of this vary so best to check beforehand if you’d like to use it - London Bridge Station is about a 20 minute walk away with accessible options via the Jubilee and Northern lines as well as National Rail options - There are other stations within walking distance too, or a short bus ride away - A large number of buses stop very close to the building - There is a small off-road just beside the building that provides lots of space for taxis or other vehicles to drop off away from the main road.
Access
The access to the building is very easy with lifts available in all areas. Staff will greet you at the entrance of the building and escort you up to the 60th floor where the main reception is located. If you need directions during your visit, such as toilets or the exit, staff are always on hand to assist. There is also a cloakroom available to store coats and bags. One thing I noted was some areas get a bit dark, especially after the sun had gone down.
Toilets
The toilet had all the accessibility features I needed. There was a toilet seat at the right height, grab rails, lowered sink, lowered mirror and an emergency cord hanging all the way to the floor. It was also all very clean and well-presented. It may be slightly small for those with larger wheelchairs or who require extra assistance. While I didn't need it for these visits, I sometimes need an extra person, and we would have managed okay with two people plus my wheelchair. I also had plenty of room to do a full turn in my small manual wheelchair when I was in there on my own. It might be a bit more of a squeeze for those needing more space, either for larger mobility aids or additional help. It was also a bit dark once the sun had gone down. One thing that I really liked was that you were able to see the view from the toilet! I’ve been to other locations where the non-accessible toilets have an incredible view but the accessible toilet ends up being a windowless box. So I really appreciated that this toilet still had that feature!
Staff
These visits have been some of my best when it comes to staff accommodating my access needs. The staff couldn’t have done more to help, especially during the cooking class. I was offered emails and calls to discuss my access needs ahead of the booking. For the class itself, I was given a lowered workbench to ensure I could get involved safely. Once we had finished cooking and were ready to eat, they had reserved a lowered table in the main restaurant for us to enjoy our creations! The staff were all very attentive and helpful and there were always lots of people around.
