    Manchester Central Library

Manchester Central Library has a beautiful and welcoming entrance, with lots of greenery in front of the building. As a wheelchair user, I appreciated that access into the library was via a ramp to the left of the building, or to the right. The ramp, was a long slope, meaning it was straight forward to navigate and would be excellent for visitors with sticks or rollators too. I entered through the main entrance at the front and was greeted with a big smile by the person on the door which was a great welcome! Nearby, there is clear signage, showing what to find on each floor, where the bathrooms are, meeting rooms, etc. The lifts were great, large enough for 2 to 3 wheelchairs and the buttons were at a good height. There was plenty of space in each room to view the bookshelves, computers, use the desks, etc. Staff were more than happy to help with any queries. Remember to take your radar key for the bathrooms and some change for their cafe and shop! There are tram stops very close to the library, places for a taxi to be able to pick up/drop off and the bus station is 10 minutes away. An enjoyable and peaceful afternoon, with very friendly staff.

    Grand and impressive

Manchester Central Library is a majestic building. Distributed over six floors, this rotunda-style structure inspired by the Pantheon in Rome really is a sight to behold. With accessible computers, accessible toilets on every public floor, a Changing Place toilet, a study hall, and a cafe, it truly is a place for everyone.

Changing Places Toilet - If you can find it.
