Museum of Icons of Style at Newbridge Silverware is a Fashionable Must See and very accessible

Overview
The free Museum of Icons of Style, at Newbridge Silverware, houses fashion collections and artefacts which once belonged to some of the greatest style icons of modern times such as Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Princess Grace, Princess Diana, the Beatles and many more. There is a permanent gallery and also temporary exhibitions held throughout the year. I had a fun and enjoyable visit. The step free museum is located on the first floor of the Newbridge Silverware Visitor Centre in Newbridge, Ireland, where you can do a factory tour (which I did not do and can't comment on the access) and visit their shop. I've done a separate review for their restaurant.
Transport & Parking
The nearest train station is Newbridge, which has step free access and from there it is about a 20 minute walk. Although it is a level walk, I found it too much and ended up popping into a chemist for directions and they ended up calling a taxi for me (thank you). The taxi ride was about 5 minutes and dropped me off in the car park right next to the visitor centre. I ordered the taxi to take me back to the station later.
Access
There are large automatic entrance doors into the building. The museum is on the first floor and can be reached by stairs with handrails on both sides or by a platform lift. There is a further platform lift on the first floor where one of the display cabinets is on a slightly higher level. There are a few chairs and sofas dotted about. The clothes are displayed on mannequins in glass cases. There are also a couple of videos playing, without captions.
Toilets
There is an accessible toilet close to the front door in the shop area, on the ground floor. There is a manual door into the toilet area, and then a second door into the accessible toilet cubicle. Apologies I've just realised I forgot to take a photo of the toilet. The accessible toilet had a manual door. It had plenty of grab rails. I can't remember if it has an emergency cord. It was very clean, tidy and well maintained.
Staff
The couple of members of staff I spoke to were very friendly and helpful.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The museum is a treasure trove of costumes and personal items worn by celebrities. It was amazing to see so many famous outfits in the one location. It is extremely impressive. I loved my visit. It was less than an hour away by train from Dublin and well worth visiting. Please see my review of The Silver Restaurant at Newbridge Silverware visitor centre for more details about access. However, most of the photos on this review are clothing, so if you choose to go you will know what to expect. If you love fashion it is well worth going to visit. I would happily go back again to see the exhibition.
