Overview

Dog park that is located at the side of a country road in a farm field that has been remodeled into a dog park. I found this dog park through Facebook and you book a slot time to visit online. You can either book a 30 minute slot or a 60 minute slot. For the 30 minute slots there’s 3 options to book for 1 to 4 dogs you know, 5 dogs or 6 dogs and for the 60 minute slots there’s 5 options to book for 1 to 4 dogs, 5 dogs, 6 dogs, 7/8 dogs or 9/10 dogs.

Transport & Parking

You can only really get to this dog park by car as it is located in the middle of the countryside, maybe there’s a bus that goes nearby but I can’t comment on any public transport. To enter the car park you have to enter a secure gate with a code that you get sent with the confirmation of your booking in a email. The gate is quite big and looks heavy, if you are a wheelchair user I would suggest having someone with you to help open the gate because as well as the heaviness of the gate the ground surface of the car park is difficult to drive on so it would be very difficult to get out and in your car again. Once you’re in the car park you lock the gate again and then it’s secure to let your dog out. Now I have to say I really struggled to drive my powerchair in the car park as the ground is covered in medium sized stones which you can see in an image below. I had to get my carer to reverse my car as close to the entrance to the dog park as possible so I didn’t have to drive on the stones too much and my wheels were spinning trying to get up my ramp I had to get my carer to put my car at a flatter area.

Access

There is another gate you need to open to get into the grass area of the dog park but this isn’t a locked gate. The dog park is a massive field area that allows your dog to run around freely as it’s secured by lots of fencing. The field isn’t all flat as it has small hill areas and the ground is quite bumpy, I wasn’t surprised by this though as I knew it was a farm field. I noticed on Facebook that the grass had been cut the morning I visited so I don’t know how I would have managed if the grass was thicker. On the day I visited it was dry and sunny but very windy, I ended up leaving 10 minutes early because the field is so open I was freezing from the wind. There is a hut with camper chairs available if you want to take shelter but there is a step to get into it so it wouldn’t be accessible for wheelchair user. Also beside the hut there is a black rubber mat on the ground leading from the gate to enter the field and into the field which you can see in an image below. For dogs there is a water bowl and water container to fill up the bowl, there’s a padding pool and also a little obstacle course which my puppy Sheldon wasn’t really interested.

Toilets

0

There aren’t any toilets at the dog park.

Staff

0

There aren’t any staff to interact with whilst you visit and you book your slot online so you don’t need to talk to anyone when booking your slot either.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Due to you booking a slot just for yourself or with other dogs and owners that you know I feel safe with Covid-19 still around. Also it being outdoors and all open I definitely feel safe visiting.
