Venue Description

This gorgeous single-screen cinema in East Finchley can fairly claim to be London’s oldest continuously-open cinema: it was completed in 1910 and opened its doors in 1912. Programme-wise, the Phoenix shows a mix of independent, mainstream and foreign films, and its auditorium is one of the most beautiful places to watch a film in London. This is also a great cinema to catch directors and actors introducing their latest work, live opera, theatre and ballet and events aimed at introducing children to great cinema.

Accessibility

We welcome wheelchair users and have full access across the building: an external ramp at our entrance, a lift to our auditorium, a platform lift to our café and an accessible toilet in the foyer. There are four dedicated wheelchair spaces in the auditorium (two front row, two back row) Where possible we aim to screen at least one subtitled performance of our main feature where a subtitled version of the film has been made available to us. Our auditorium is also equipped with an integrated induction loop.
