    Picardy Place Tram Stop

    About

Picardy Place Tram Stop is a central transport hub located at a recently remodelled plaza in the New Town area of Edinburgh. Positioned at the head of Leith Walk, the stop is a gateway to the city’s vibrant East End and serves as a primary connection point for those traveling between the city centre and the port district of Leith. Visitors can explore the nearby creative district, which features a variety of international restaurants and the Edinburgh Playhouse, or view the local Sherlock Holmes statue marking the birthplace of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

The tram stop and all modern trams serving it are designed with accessibility in mind, offering step free access to platforms via gently sloping ramps. Trams feature low entrances, high visibility handrails, and two dedicated wheelchair spaces per vehicle that allow users to face forward during travel. For those needing additional facilities, the nearby St James Quarter, located approximately 200 metres away, offers accessible toilets and a Changing Places toilet on Level 1.
