A bit tight for EV charging New
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Walking Aid, Wheelchair, Powerchair, Hidden Impairment
Overview
To enter into the carpark as a pedestrian, you first need to scan your ticket or payment card. There is a small tiled lobby with three payment machines, two of which are low enough to use in a wheelchair. There is also the option to pay via app. The lifts are around to the left. There are 13 electric vehicle charging points on level 1, to your left right as you exit the lift lobby. They are blink Type 2 22kW charging points without an integrated cable.
Transport & Parking
Access
There are two lifts with narrow doors that are not particularly large. The call button is in the middle between them. The buttons inside the lift also have Braille. There was a level sign with Braille on level 1, but not on the ground floor. There are handrails at the side of the lift and a mirror at the back, but most of the mirror is taken up by decals. The doors to the parking spaces are not automatic and open into the lift lobby. There is a vertical metal handle as tall as the door. They are fire doors, so quite heavy. As for the EV chargers, there is not enough space between the bays to get out or around to the back where the charge points are if you are using a wheelchair or a rollator. The terminals are mounted to the wall at a good height to reach from a seated position, though. The parking spot closest to the door is marked as blue badge parking, but there is honestly not enough space around it for that to make sense.
Toilets
There are no toilets at this facility.
Staff
I briefly talked to a member of staff asking about the electric vehicle charging points and they were nice, but not particularly interested.
