Overview
I passed through Russell Square on my way out to explore the city. I’m a sucker for a nice garden – and this definitely ticks that box. The park’s been around since the 1800s and still has that classic London feel, with proper Georgian townhouses lining the edges. It’s got a bit of charm about it, and a sense of calm that makes it a great spot to pause before heading into the busier parts of the city.
Transport & Parking
I wheeled from the nearby Euston Premier Inn, but if you'd rather catch the bus, the 14 and SL6 services run to the park and are accessible to boot! On-street parking is available around the park, though there are no specific accessible parking spaces
Access
There’s level access from all six entrances to the park, and the paths are well maintained. You won’t be short of places to sit either – there are benches dotted all over if you need a rest. There’s also a café in the park where you can stop for a coffee, or something stronger if the sun’s out. There’s not much in the way of access features beyond that, but if the weather’s on your side, it’s a welcoming spot for everyone.
Toilets
I understand from an earlier review that there is an accessible toilet in the park, which needs a RADAR key, though I didn't visit it.
