Overview
We were wandering around this side of Edinburgh trying to find an accessible, non-crowded bar - it seemed like rugby or football was on that day. We came across the Blue Blazer and decided to go in. While it was better than nothing, it’s definitely not ideal in terms of access or facilities.
Transport & Parking
There are good public transport links nearby, but I don’t drive so I’m not sure about the parking situation.
Access
There is level access at the entrance, which is a positive. However, once inside, accessibility is limited. The front part of the bar has a few tables that are thankfully at a standard sitting height rather than high bar stools. The rest of the venue is up a few steps, which are not ramped. The bar itself is also at standing height, so my friend had to order drinks for me. Although it’s far from ideal, it was nice to find somewhere that wasn’t completely inaccessible and packed at short notice. It was quite loud, but I wouldn't expect anything else from a bar.
Toilets
There are no accessible toilets at Blue Blazer. The toilets are located down a full flight of stairs. The stairs do have a rail on one side, but there’s no accessible alternative, and only two small cubicles at the bottom.
Staff
There was very minimal interaction with staff apart from ordering drinks, so I can't comment much on service.
