Overview

We are here at Llandudno to enjoy the break available at this famous holiday resort, with its views over Liverpool Bay, and its sandy coast, with the backdrop of the Great Orme headland, and the pier that lies below. With its Victorian character, which houses the only hotel in Llandudno that has a swimming pool, and a health centre, a fine gym fitness centre, sauna and steam rooms. The Chantreys restaurant with its AA Rosette award is an ideal place for dinner, while a more relaxed dinner may be taken in “The Terrace” with views overlooking the bay. This elegant 4 star rated classic hotel with a Victorian facade, reminiscent of times gone bye with its original charm, has a central position on the promenade overlooking Liverpool Bay. It has 98 bedrooms, which includes four delightful suites with excellent sea views looking over towards bay and the “Great Orme”. Many other rooms also have lovely views, some of the 5th floor rooms have private balconies with table and chairs provided. A number of accessible rooms with walk in-showers may be booked in advance, but these fill up quickly, so book early. These have lift access directly by the reception desk. These rooms are spacious, with a good wet room, everything is cleaned Dailey, towels and toiletries regularly replaced, Four stylish beautiful suites have their own lounges, separate bathrooms, offering outstanding space, with delightful sea views. The finest room is 114, a corner bay window first floor suite, “The MOSTYN SUITE” ( PLEASE READ OUR SEPERATE REVIEW, “ GUEST SUITE 114 “ on Euan’s Guide. This is not an accessible room, but very spacious, with a separate lounge area and its own bedroom. It’s has a bath, with overhead shower, but a small 6 inch step. Note however, room 108 which has lovely views looking towards the headland and Great Orme, while you enjoy the view while sitting at the large bay window. The other sash window offers same view from the large bedroom. But unfortunately, SPOTLIGHTS illuminate the room, the light directly into the window, straight into your face. The curtains do not protect you, however It does go off at 11.30. We are able to provide a little help and guidelines with other floors and their rooms. Sea facing 5th floor rooms have their own balconies, as well as being reasonably large. Room 412 offers sea views, large bathroom, but not accessible, and a little tired looking. Room 434 is a good size, plenty of room in the bathroom, with a bath with overhead shower. Room 301 is a standard double, plenty of space, very comfortable, with a walk in shower. However, it overlooks the rear carpark Room 310 is front sea facing views, but a little tired looking, with a large bathroom, but not accessible. Rooms 324 and 326 are rather crammed with small double bed, and not accessible rooms. WE STRONGLY URGE YOU to BOOK DIRECTLY WITH THE IMPERIAL HOTEL ITSELF. ====================== Telephone 01492 877 466. and discuss with them your particular needs, and you will find the reception team so willing and helpful in supporting you. ======================================================================== Photo 1. Imperial hotel stands on Gloddaeth Crescent ======================== The crescent refers to Gloddaeth Hall, the old 1500’s mansion built by Margaret of Gloddaeth, which was the estate of the MOSTYN family, the land being bought in 1460. who owned the land. The old hall was a 16th century hall, having a Hammer beam roof, and stone panelling. There were later alterations made in the 17th and 19th century. The crescent stands along the delightful, almost two mile promenade, that lines the golden sandy beach of Liverpool Bay. Photo 2. Victorian style hotel ========================= The original hotel was built in 1872, having a red brick fronted building, with many large chimneys. However, following a fire the top floor had to be rebuilt in 1972. Today, the hotel has a nice atmosphere, cleanliness is the order of the day, public areas are well maintained, spotless, with an excellent service provided by all its staff. An outside terrace offers table and chairs, with its entrance opening out onto the main crescent and promenade. Photo 3. Photo 4 and 5 Imperial private car park ========================== The car park stands at the rear of the hotel, along Bodafon street, but there’s not that many spaces, and always seems to be full. It’s on a first come first parked basis, free to residents. RECEPTION =========================== A smart, beautifully furnished pleasant reception area, offering quiet places to sit. Photo 12 Reception desk =========================== Richard and Debbie will take care of all your needs and enquiries, especially with booking you in, very helpful and supporting, lots of advice, and kindness beyond what’s needed. Richard himself was so helpful, nothing too much bother for him, we found him here and there, always supportive, so our grateful thanks to the both of them, a credit to the hotel. Photos 13 and 14. Passage and hotels lift ===================================== Just beyond the reception desk and over to the left, a nicely light airy passage leads the way towards the hotels main lift. It’s not very big how ever, scooters could get in and out, but you would need to check size of any large scooters before you booked. For the main suites, take the lift up to level one. Transport & Parking

3

Difficult as there are not many spaces, so nearly always full. Street parking is just as hard to find spaces, and nearest carpark is at the main station, and that’s nearly always full.

Access

3.5

From the hotels carpark, there is a side door entry, but corridor is narrow to get to lift, and then the lift is very small, only a wheelchair can get inside, large scooters will not get in it. However, you can leave carpark and walk around the rear of hotel and along towards promenade where you will find a ramp leading up to main entrance, with a push wooden doorway which you will need carers help to get you in. There is a main lift available, just beyond reception area, and although larger than rear lift, it still isn’t that big, and large scooters users should check size with reaction before booking a room.

Toilets

0.5

Unknown, as used bedroom facilities.

Staff
