Overview

Accessible in a lot of ways. ie lifts and elevators plus even when it’s full, it feels open airy and not claustrophobic at all. Lots of toilets and expensive food/ drink outlets. We booked dinner before at the adjacent Crowne plaza hotel and left our car there for £13 - then it was only a 5 min walk round the corner. However we sat in accessible seats for 1 ambulant disabled and 1 carer - in a wide open corridor at the back of level 2 - for half price which is great - but the seats were hard fold-up chairs ( if you have a wheelchair more comfy to stay in that) and everyone in front of us stood up to dance so we couldn’t see!!! Still a brilliant concert however!!! The normal seats look scary as there’s no continuous hand rail - only a kind of short rail every 2 steps down - but think I’d rather struggle into one while hanging onto my husband for dear life next time because the seat was really sore!

Transport & Parking

3.5

Been twice first time parked at multi storey car park in a blue badge - about £13 pretty close to walk to hydro maybe 10 mins walk on a walkway, second time parked at Crowne plaza and had dinner there - then only 5 mins walk - but both car parks are a bit if a traffic jam nightmare when leaving afterwards

Access

3.5

Walked in on husbands arm good signage and plenty of helpers in high viz to answer questions. Lots of toilets, escalators and lifts but we bought some expensive takeaway and there was no where to sit so sat on a step so not great. The next time we went walked straight in up an escalator and straight in to seat our seat on the level 2 no steps because we booked an ambulant disabled plus a carer. Stage has a huge video screen on either side meaning you can see the show up close - pretty amazing really. People in the row in front of us stood up and we couldn’t see - but the concert was still great and worth it- they only stood up for the finale. Fold up metal seats pretty sore however! If I had a wheelchair I would use that instead maybe I’ll take a cushion next time!

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Didn’t notice but it’s very open and not claustrophobic at all. It’s actually a wonderful venue sound and vision wise - 2 huge videos so you can see up close - brilliant if no one in front of disability seat level stands up!

This level 2 has wheelchair stations with fold up chairs for ambulant disabled and carers along wide corridor at back however if those in front stand up it interrupts you view
