Lovely hotel, good service and food.

Staff are very friendly and cannot do enough to help you.
Transport & Parking
Large number of disabled bays in a large car park. To the right of the hotel as you face it from the car park, next to the conference extension there are more disabled bays.We drive there but it is next door to the railway station so easy to get a train there.
There is no real signage to getting in to the building and there are 6 large steps to reception plus more steps when you get inside. Most people ring the bell and a member of staff takes you to the left of carpark and a door with a chairlift to reception level. However best way is to go to the right of the car park where the extension is ,which is the events and gym as it is flat with electric door and you go along the corridor to the lift up to reception and the bedrooms. Staff while helpful don't always point this way out which is much easier than relying on people. Once inside the hotel which is beautiful by the way, it is easy to go to the lounge, and restaurant which is big and spacious .Breakfast and evening meals are there. They have a few adapted rooms with walk in showers but if you don't need full adaption , the suites on the first floor are very large , easy to get the chair around and have a view of the Minster.
Disabled loo is fine, with rails , but of tight squeeze for a carer.
All very helpful particularly the front desk

Yes, I'd recommend it and we will visit again as York is a lovely city, easy to walk from hotel and the national railway museum is virtually next door.
