So much better than I expected from an ancient site

Overview
We visited the Roman Baths whilst on holiday in Somerset. I'll be honest, I didn't expect it to be that accessible, given the age and type of site but they have really thought about how wheelchair access is possible to all areas. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and were really impressed!
Transport & Parking
We arrived in Bath by motorhome and parked on Royal Avenue in a disabled bay for free for the whole day. It is a fair walk from there into the city and it is quite hilly (downhill on the way there, uphill on the way back). Motorhome parking in cities is rarely easy though, so we were quite happy. I think they should put some accessible parking for bigger vehicles in Charlotte Street car park, but that would be down to local council.
Access
The site is on multiple levels. Some of it is outside and a lot is museum style indoors. There are 4 different lifts, all with automated doors, and I found it very easy to get to each section of the site. They give you a map and point out the best route round. There is one section that they warned me that my assistance dog may not like due to a long metal grid floor. She normally doesn't like that sort of flooring but she was actually fine. There is a way to avoid it though, if it's a problem. The only really tricky bit was the floor around the bath itself. It is the original Roman surface and is very uneven with lots of drainage channels. My free carer (hubby) definitely earned his visit here! We got round with a bit of team work and it was well worth the effort!
Toilets
There are two sets of accessible toilets, one at the entrance and one in the museum. Both had automatic doors and were spacious and clean. Grab rails and other equipment were in good condition.
Staff
The staff were fantastic! They were helpful and very attentive. They acted as guides, telling us which way to go next, as well as pointing out potential access issues.
