Overview
I visited the Royal Hotel Campbeltown for lunch during a stop-over from the Paddle Steamer Waverley. The lunch was acceptable, the service was ok given that the restaurant was very busy. When I however, went to the disabled toilet, before leaving, I found the toilet totally unacceptable. Namely; a. A used nappy left lying and not disposed of correctly. b. The baby changing table could not be clipped to its upright position. This meant as a wheelchair user I could not negotiate using the toilet easily due to the table remaining in the using position. c. The paper towels to dry my hands were at an unreasonable height. After some manoeuvring, I did manage to access a paper towel. d. The "bin" for disposal of the paper towels was wedged down the wall side of the toilet which meant I could not access the "bin". I advised the receptionist I had left my used paper towel as near to the bin as possible. I did report all these findings to the Receptionist. As the Manager, Ms Mhairi Morrison, could not be located and I had to board my boat in time I wrote to the Manager the following day. After numerous emails it was apparent the Manager was not responding. I was then told to contact the Resort Director Mr Ian Ferguson. Despite further numerous emails I have had no response from Mr Ferguson either. My main complaint however is the fact that no-one in authority has deemed to respond to my complaint. The staff at Reception have been more than helpful in ensuring that Ms Morrison and Mr Ferguson received my emails. A very disappointed visitor.
