The Wheel and Compass

The Wheel and Compass is a 17th Century country pub that has been family run since 1994 by the Woolmans. We are located in the picturesque village of Weston by Welland in the Welland Valley in south Leicestershire. We pride ourselves on good homemade pub food some being your old classics like beer battered cod, chips and mushy peas, a hearty steak from a local butcher cooked to perfection with your choice of potatoes and seasonal vegetables or salad or a homemade hearty Pie of the week (Which is even more popular on a Monday during our pie night) to meals with a more continental twist like our ever popular Mediterranean Mixed Seafood Stew, Moussaka, or a sharing platter of melted mini brie cheese, cured meats olives sundried tomatoes and pickled onions. We run a carvery on a Wednesday lunchtime 12 noon till 2pm at only £5.25 and a Sunday carvery 12 noon till 5pm for £8.00 or £9.00. Of course you will need something to have along side that lovely food well we have you covered there as well with 5 gest ales on tap 2 of which are rolling guest ales if you like to try something new, 3 lagers, Guinness, 1 new world pale ale and 3 ciders all at competitive prices from £2.85 a pint to £3.30 we also have a wide range of all spirits, soft drinks and have a large wine list and gin menu. There is plenty of seating inside the pub and a large garden to the rear with benches for you to sit a look out over the beautiful rolling fields and for those with children there is a large play area with swings climbing frames and a slide.
